Lessons in Life

I was asked to name things I learnt in life, and my answer was:

Lesson #1
Everyone is capable of anything. No matter how nice a person is to you, doesn't mean they're nice to everyone. For all I know, sometimes they're even able to do unimaginable things!

Lesson #2
Even though you think someone has treated you badly, they will always be able to find worse things to do to you. So forgive, but never forget.

Lesson #3
Whatever you do and whatever happens to you (whether or not it's because of your own doings), your family are the only ones who'll accept you for who you are.

Lesson #4
First impressions count. If your gut icks when you talk to someone for the first time, no matter how nicely he/she treats you, you'll realize their true colours are not amongst your favourite. Sometimes they’re not even in the same hue as yours.

Lesson #5
Nothing lasts. Even if someone declares an undying love to you, it won't. The love might, but the person will die (family members included). And so does pain and sufferings.
On that note, live every moment to its fullest - laugh and cry all you want.  Appreciate everything that's happened to you, because that might be the last time you experience it.

As I finished saying this, I noticed my acquaintance gave a grim smile and asked, "Are you sure you're only 29?"

… … …?
