Been busy since end of June, mostly because of my succesful enrolment with the Khazanah's Cross Assignment project. My boss wanted me to finish off everything that was still pending by end of June - my 'transfer' was supposed to start 1st July 2009. Only a few days before July, I found out the assignment starts only in August. I was relieved for a bit, but not too long - got a two-week project that I need to complete. Sigh...
So that was what keeping me away from blogging in July. Round-the-clock meetings and discussions. Always there were things that occupy my time and mind, and ultimately keeping me away from other activities and life! Not to mention the people I had to work with - middle management personnel, who were supposed to be experts of the latest technology provided by my previous company. Gosh, I'm just glad it only lasted a couple of weeks. Two awfully long, demanding and stressful weeks!
After the wait, August finally came. And, I happily dumped all my works to the new guy who took over my job. Came 3rd August, I was shocked to be shown to my desk - I have to sit right in front of my direct supervisor! Another block to my blogging and linguistic training. +(
Of course, being with a new company and all, I was sent to trainings after trainings, and then participate in an audit by SIRIM - gasp! No time to even get familiar with the staff, I was already asked to answer questions from an external auditor! But I went along anyway, luckily they were satisfied with most of my answers (I hope!)
So now it's already September - how time flies, and I still have no idea what I'm supposed to do here, except for leading a unit called 'Productivity & Quality Management'. My supervisor has no idea what to expect, her boss only knows that I should be able to help them improve their existing processes so they can make more money. My subords expects me to tell them what they should do, simply because I had experience with ISO certification before. And I suddenly feel the burden on my shoulders... oh dear...
p.s. Khazanah's Cross Assignment is a project where most GLCs participate by swapping their staff to another GLC, for 12 to 24 months. View press statement from Khazanah for more info (http://www.khazanah.com.my/docs/MEDIA%20STATEMENT-GLC%20Cross%20Assignment%20Prog%20Launched-090706.pdf).
